Nutrition Questionnaire
The Commission on Aging is responsible for administering programs for older adults, age 60 years or older. These services include the congregate and home delivered meal programs, senior centers, mini-bus and volunteer driver program. Other programs include senior exercise, nail care, information and assistance, Benefit Specialist, family caregiver support and emergency response systems.

Benefit Specialist Program
The Benefit Specialist is available to advocate and assist older adults with issues concerning federal, state, and county benefits, such as:
- Medicare
- Social Security
- SSI Medical Assistance
- QMB
- SLMB
- Medical billing problems
- Housing assistance or complaints
The Benefit Specialist can assist with the complex application process or act as an appointed representative through grievance and appeal procedures. Home visits are available. Call 715.748.1492 for appointments.
Nutrition
There are nine nutrition sites located throughout Taylor County offering noon meals to anyone 60 years or older & spouse (regardless of age). Donations are accepted to help defray costs of meals.
Do you dislike eating alone? Is it a problem cooking for just one or two? Are you 60 years or over? If so...
Attend a Nutrition Site in Your Area
You can visit with friends, participate in recreation and entertainment, have your blood pressure checked and get information about Homestead Tax, energy and weatherization assistance, Social Security, Medicare, nutrition and health issues.
Transportation is provided to the Medford Nutrition Site, as well as other sites in Taylor County. Your site manager will help you make arrangements.
Home Delivered Meals are provided to residents who are confined to their homes because of illness or disability. Referrals are required. Please call 715.748.1491.
Other older adults who would enjoy a good meal are also welcome. Be sure to give them a call and tell them about about the noon meals or call the COA office.
Telephone the site manager one day in advance to make your reservation, or you may register in person for the next meal.
Alzheimer's Support Group
Meets the 4th Monday of each month, 1:30 PM at the Medford Multipurpose Room. Free respite care (prearranged) for the Alzheimer's patient is available.
Blind & Visually Impaired Support Group
Meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 12:30 PM at the Medford Multipurpose Room.
Senior Home Repair Program
Volunteers will provide minor home repairs or modifications that will add safety and / or comfort to a home.
Telephone Reassurance
Phone Buddies are volunteers who provide telephone reassurance to people who need to be contact frequently.
Little Store
The Little Store is a non-profit craft shop staffed by volunteers. Any resident age 55 and over, and/or disable may sell his/her craft items through the Little Store.
