The County Clerk, elected every four years, acts as clerk of the County Board of Supervisors and maintains a public file of all standing committees. The County Clerk, along with Accountant Larry Brandl, prepares the annual budget as directed by the Finance Committee; sets the county tax rate and apportionment; certifies the county tax rate to the municipal clerks for collection; keeps the general books of account and presents all claims made against the county to the County Board or its authorized committees. The County Clerk is the Chief Election Official who administers all county, state, and federal elections. The County Clerk issues marriage licenses, cutting permits, dog license material, tax certificates, delinquent tax notices and hunting and fishing licenses as prescribed by the DNR. Payroll & Benefits Administrator Jacky Peterson, administers the County payroll and is responsible for the health, dental, disability, life insurance; worker’s compensation, and Wisconsin Retirement System eligibility.
