The Taylor County Forest is made up of 17,500 acres located in the northeast corner of Taylor County. The forest is managed on multiple use basis providing timber production, recreation, wildlife habitat and watershed protection. The forest provides excellent hunting, fishing, trapping, berry picking and wildlife viewing opportunities. There are also ATV trails, Ice Age Trail, snowmobile trails, cross country ski trails, hunter walking trails and two campgrounds in the county forest.
The Taylor County forest products from the timber sales are certified as sustainable by Forest Stewardship Council and Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
